Power Window stopped working ! I have not had the car long so did not know if they slowed down ! I took my door apart and found that the regulator tape had been greased in the factory . So the grease in the track was hard and sticky . Once i cleaned out the track , installed a new regulator tape and sprayed the track with a marine dry lub , the window works fine . My window stopped when the motor drive wheel chewed up the regulator tape . So i was lucky to not have to replace the motor . So then i took all the doors apart , cleaned the regulator tape and track then sprayed with the dry lub . If you have the same regulator tape , you need to do this before you burn out the motor or the drive wheel chews up the regulator tape. Rubber door stops helped to keep window up while doing this project . The nylon locking clip , i was not able to get the locking clip out of the guide block without breaking it , so nice to have some , before you need them .

My 81 Delta 88 had manual windows. From what I saw, the power windows were reliable. My 88 has slow windows, passenger side especially. There is a fix on G bodies, lubricating and cleaning only slightly improves them.

your delta 88 still had the regulator tape even if it did not have power . I do not care how fast my windows are i just need them to be reliable. So even if your windows are manual you can still damage the regulator tape when the regulator tape track is sticky . Maybe a persons arm is stronger than a motor so maybe damage the tape before a motor would as the motor would burn out . So should not increase electrical power until regulator tape and track are cleaned and dry lub .

Just so all of you know, there is a problem with parts distributors . The nylon locking clips are a special order and you have to take the whole box of 25 clips . Crazy , some cars have 25 doors ! The company that sells the locking clips does not sell the regulator tape ! The company that sells the regulator tape does not sell the locking clips ! You would think the company that sells the regulator tape would have one locking clip in the package . You would also think this tiny part should be on the wall in the Help section . I phoned Dorman they said no one has ever asked for a locking clip. Thats crazy they sell the regulator tape ! I do not feel the after market regulator tape is as good as the original tape , so get in there and clean out the old grease so you do not have to buy new regulator tape.
