Got a 69 442 with a 455 in it. Has a mid 70's hei distributor in it. Motor was complety rebuilt and running 3 years ago and has sat since then. Trying to get running again but cannot get any spark. Pulled the coil out and the red wire was burnt or corroded into. Put a new coil in and still no spark. What should I try next?

Check everything over good. Is the ground strap attached to the coil? Maybe a module? I have had more than one pick up coil die in the HEI's. New distributors are around $30 and we'll made for the price.

Any parts store can check the ignition module. If the coil wires are burnt then the coil got hot. Do you have a tach connected to the tach terminal? If so make sure the tach wire isn’t grounded out somewhere. Look at the wires to the pickup coil, make sure they haven’t broken.
