I just bought a 05 Grand Prix for number 2 daughter. Her 3 requests, no red car, she wanted a car younger than her, and the stereo needed a aux input to allow her iPod/phone/whatever to play in the car. The first 2 requests are done, hoping to take care of number 3. I originally planned to install a aftermarket radio, but I learned the drivers information center is somehow interfaces with the radio. No radio, the gear indicator won’t work, no odometer, no trip odometer, etc. crap. Then while sitting in a

drive thru I noticed the CD/AUX button. Any chance I could use the aux for what she wants to do?-

I see there is a kit for this, I think I will buy one for my 70 Cutlass. Already have two stereos one with CD, the other with cassette.

I called Crutchfield, I was not happy with how the conversation went. Just a little to eager to try and sell a stereo. I don’t want to lose the drivers info center. If the auxiliary input is capable of supporting a cd changer, my question is could I use that input for a cellphone? There is no 3.5mm jack, this car is a little older than that technology. If I can’t use the input, I guess the other option is one of the FM conveters that plays thru the car stereo. Thanks.

I finally got this installed in the 70S, works great. I just hooked into the accessory 12 volt going into the stereo and grounded against the dash. Great part of the the preset is the 87.9, the default for my Pioneer stereo. I now have AM/FM, Cassette, CD and Aux input in the 70S:).
