So today was the magic day. I'd spoken before about my failing Duplicolor PaintShop Pro paint. Don't get me wrong, I shot it on a another car first. But it was my daughters honda,12 years old, and ya know, 3 years after paint it was sold on to someone else. So just not sure all-in-1 mix is a...
LOL
Probably acrylic basecoat and 2kClear . Maybe some flake in the base coat. I have like 30 pictures on my pC of Cuttys with different colors. The white interior leaves me pretty much at black, blue , grey or red. But I might just have a shop shoot it once I prime it all up.
This corona...
I want to do this outside because then I could wet sand for dust control.
Attempting wet , dry, or even vacuum collection would be a bloody mess in my 1 car garage.
Thanks for the info on that trim. A guy on eblay has a cheap set, but he's relisted it 4 times. Figured that may be the case...
I see you're keepin busy, man. I'm waiting for a nice sunny warm day to come along to sand this Stucompatable with my 82 G-body?plicolor Paint Shop enamel off this car.
I can't believe it's Monday and the forecast says the next day when it will be over 50F and not raining is sometime next week...
There's just something satisfying about ripping out rusty lines and replacing with new. I've more line work to do on my 82 yet.
That brake fluid, man, I'll tell ya. Rough on the bare hands. It's like a "lite" version of fiberglass resin.
Nasty.
Typical, following the engine install. My line running down to the rears cracked at the nearest support clip after I disturbed it slightly, pulling and reinstalling my crossmember. Better now than later, I say.
The twins here.
Lower control arm during service. I just rinsed the thing off here, while I replaced the wire wheel to finish up the coil area.
Here's one of the upper control arms. They all looked like this. You can see the condition of the bushings.
For servicing the uppers I just...
Wrapped up the driver's lower control arm today. Coils will be in for next weekend and I can wrap the driver side up.
Then I get to do it all again on the other side.
Speaking of the other side, here's some of the fossilized rock and dirt I'm dealing with. No wonder I could only reuse one...
Old thread, but man this brings back a lot of memories, @oldsofb . My story is, I updated to rally dash in 2003 . Picked it up at a scrapyard and used the pinout diagram from this site. A month after install the odometer quit. I had a free standing Sun laying around so I gutted it, and...
Oh well.
- Upper control arm is in. One of the mounting bolts (stud) needs replaced. Spins in the breeze. All out of feasible candidates in my coffee can of bolts.
Tried a couple tricks, turned into an exercise in futility. I'll just get the correct stud since I'm on hold with the springs.
-...
OK. All coffee'd up and going out in the garage to do some work on the Cutty.
- two upper control arm replacement today.
- the two lower control two arms I'll be servicing with new bushings and lower ball joints.
- clean and paint lower control arms.
- clean and paint frame area while accessible.
No screw? I hate setting fast idle lol. Hot restarts are ok over here. But Cold starts ( first one of the day) take 2 or 3 tries.., even with some throttle pumping beforehand.
Good question about the canister. I'd say air bonnet. The underside of my Edelbrock chrome Hi-hat has a knockout for such a thing.
Attempted to restore dash vents for heat on Sunday. Blows good via top defrost and bottom vents. But my vacuum ball is cracked and in a cardboard box in the garage...
Well it's been freezing for about 10 days because you sent your Arctic air down here. But I didn't order my Summit double hump trans mount yet anyway, so " a break in the action" over here.
