I bought a 1955 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 - & for the longest while I thought it had the original engine in it, come to find out that the engine was swapped & now I have a Edelbrock 403 6.6 L - the original engine is a 324 cubic inch V-8.
MY QUESTION IS how do I find out the year of my engine?? Is it on the engine block it self - the only numbers I see is 557265 4B , I’m trying to buy a engine gasket kit & the guy said he needs to know the year of my engine - Can someone help me? Thank you

The 403 was only made from 77-79. (Unless there was an older model?) Those should all be the same so just pick a year in that range. Edelbrock makes aftermarket intakes for all later olds v8s but the gaskets are the same. I have a 77 403 w/ an edelbrock intake in my grand Prix. IIRC All the gaskets will be the same for any later SBO except the head gaskets obviously but don’t quote me on that.

Pix would help.

As said other than the head gaskets, the gaskets are the same. What trans, I assume a TH350?
