I've never purchased a car on e-bay. What is the process? I looked at the shipping to Houston and the cheapest was almost a $1000. It would cost me more than that to fly up and drive the car back?

I do $500 deposit and the balance on delivery. I would drive it myself and I have the first 500 miles free if Buy It Now is used with additional miles at 35 cents. Looks like it would be $300-$350 for shipping depending on where in Houston you are. That of course is a subsidized rate and an incentive to use Buy It Now. Otherwise I would charge $700.

Who do I pay the $500 deposit to get the ball rolling and when would you have the car and title in Houston? My address is Tom Lambert, 1102 Glouchester Lane, Houston, TX 77073. We are on the north side of Houston, about 10 miles west of the airport. What protection do I have that everything is leget? I do have a paypal account.

Are you registered on Ebay? If so, I think you are automatically sent to Paypal to send the deposit when you hit the Buy It Now button. If you're not registered on Ebay, either register or you might be able to bid as a guest. I'm not sure how that works of it's even done with car listings. Otherwise I would have to give you my Paypal email address to send the deposit. As for protection, all I can say is read the feedback I've received for the cars I've sold. Also, I wouldn't drive it over 1400 miles if I thought it wouldn't make it. Yes, you might be out $500 at most, but you have Paypal buyer protection and if you use a credit card, additional protections from the credit card company. I would have to check for reasonable return airfares but it's usually a week out.
