What did you do to your Olds powered vehicle today?

What did I do? I drove it. About the usual for it. Hoping to not need to do too much through the summer at least!

    Rough Idle

Could be a bunch of issues. Start with the basics: When was the last tuneup? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor. What is the timing set at? What is the idle speed set at in gear, brake set?

TH350 shifts points, 1-2 too low and 2-3 too high.

Try a 3rd pedal, you control every shift! Just kidding, but when I had my th350 with a trans go kit in it, I played with the governor. The 1-2 always shifter lower than 2-3. I don't want to say you cannot make it shift the same rpm for both shifts, but I do want to say I don't *think* the...

Iron heads and 91 pump gas

I'd be real cautious of going to full 403 bore on the opening of the chamber. Its a delicate dance of lowering compression and loosing quench area. Personally I know you have some money into these heads, but I think you'd be money and time ahead to get a set of stock BB heads. Even J's will...

    Another selling thread

I feel that craigslist and selling in general was better even 5 years ago. It was always a hassle, but it doesn't seem to get any better with time. Facebook marketplace is a blessing and a curse as well. Some good stuff up there, and tons of exposure. But with that comes all the extra...

Restamped parts and the idiots on both sides

Just depends on the car and the purpose. I agree that the snobs are terrible though. My wagon is an AACA preservation car, it is original, and as such I want everything I replace to be original within reason. On the same, not every car needs to be done that way... I don't understand people who...

    Opinions?

Same here... I always say, being an adult at the holidays sucks both as the giver and receiver. As an adult you have the money to buy yourself whatever it is that you want, and if its too expensive to buy yourself you wouldn't ever expect someone to gift it to you. Now the same logic applies to...

    Valve cover gaskets

I have those ultra seals. I 100% recommend them. They do not leak, no rtv on them, and I've had the one off nearly a dozen time and reused it.

POST A PIC OF YOUR OLDS.

POST A PIC OF YOUR OLDS.

@TURNA, yep it's an s60. 4.10s and a helical posi, wildwood discs. They are so stout with basically no upgrades, that's why went that route. @Kennybill, I originally put this behind a 70 350 i had in the car so I went with the retrofit bearing from supercars unlimited so I wouldn't need to...

POST A PIC OF YOUR OLDS.

My junk: Its an 87 Cutlass I bought a few months before I turned 14. I've had it nearly 12 years now, 3 engine swaps, 3 transes, 3rd rear (not including the originals!) Currently its an E headed 403 with 10:1 compression, t56 6 speed, with a strange dana 60. Well see how long it stays this way!
