I love those 403s bores, not much valve shrouding there! (: I would use everything plus the #6 heads on the 403. Put it in the 1970 with W31 emblems. (:

This is me and 2 of my 4 Grandchildren (I have 4 plus one on the way) taken 3 years ago.

Actually the picture has the new Owner and his Brother-in-law. The taller guy also wants my Grey 1967. (:

    Cars you've sold

Your Cuda is beautiful. On one hand it's a keeper but on the other hand, each car has a special period of time and then one moves on. I just sold another of my "Babies," as I jokingly call them. With out writing a book, it was built to beat a 1967 Cadillac Calais that a guy had at the local...

Two sets of number 6 heads

This is just myopinion. Dick Miller lives in "Dick Miller's World." What I mean is the guy's calling Dick Miller for a set of #6s are probably doing a W31 and need date correct heads and don't want to be wasting time looking for a set. Plus if Dick sold a set, he'd bake and clean plus magna Flux...

The cost starts to add up quick in building/rebuilding an engine. That's why the engine builders get so much for "specialty" engines such as Oldsmobiles. I always say "a man has to know his limitations, especially with an Oldsmobile", Jokingly, but true. My new motto is, "use the parts I've...

Good to hear. I remember him having the shop for sale but things must have changed. I still have one I got from Jim 15 years ago. The one I sold was a copy but was CNCd and a little thicker. It was very nice. I've had it hanging on the wall for 15 years. I'm not planning to hot rod this 403...

Jim doesn't make them anymore, Dick Miller still has them. I was jokingly saying that because I just sold one to a Fellow forum member. (:•

Who needs BTR (Bill Travado Racing) when there's AZR, Auto Zone Racing. :)•》I pulled 3 rod caps off, crank grind looks fine, 20/20 under. The bearings look good but not sure of the maker. Rods clearance with "hi-tech" plasti-gauge was 0.0015, all 3. Pulled main #1 and #3 thrust and they were...

    My 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S

Hopefully someone will try to open your closed dragstrip. I'm still pretty lucky to have 6 dragstrips within a 100 miles, Norwalk being the farthest at 90 miles, all turnpike. BITD (back in the day) sometimes I'd race at 2 tracks in the same day. Sunset Raceway (1/8 mile)opened early, if I got...

    My 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S

Boy, that looks familiar! Better on your counter than on my wall. I'm a believer, I've one in a 403 (409) that I raced for a couple years. My weakest link was the stock small valved #5 heads. I could drive to the strip run 12.90s to low 13's and drive home. It was a fun/reliable build. Good luck

FOR SALE Restored 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Sports Coupe - starting bid $9k now on ebay

I see your car went to $14k but didn't sell. Hopefully one of the high bidders will contact you and you can make a deal both feel good about. It's hard to sell a car that one can't get fiancing on. People can't come up with $3k cash for a used car but the same person can go buy/lease a $30k...

I might pull a main cap and a rod cap or two and "hi-tec" mic it with plasti-gauge, just like the 1960's. What could possibly go wrong? (:•》 that's what engine startup stands are for. I have a backup Olds 350 that I was planning on use. I already have the hard to find small block exhaust...

Okay that makes sense. This engine is years over the warranty. After purchasing the long block engine at Auto Zone, the buyer went on a shopping spree at Summit (20 miles away) and I saw dates of 2006 on a box. So I figured he purchased it around then. It cleaned up better than I thought. I'm...

    403 pistons

That's a good deal and one could bump up the compression ratio a point with #4,5,6,7 heads or put big block heads for better flow. I'd buy them but I already have a couple sets. (:•》

The 1967 Olds 98 is a nice running car. It has a switch pitch turbo 400 (technically a turbo 425, I believe) in my opinion, the best turbo transmission GM ever made. It has a "high" stall and a "low" (lockup) stall. It's controller is on the trottle linkage. The idea is when low trottle it's in...

I don't care about performance just want to get all the torque I can. This engine will be moving a 4,600# car. I put a 3:08 posi in it about 5 years ago, it made it more "frisky." The car has a perfect running 1967 400 E engine presently. Long story on the original 425 D block. I presently need...

Yes, that's what I read online after I posted that. The 4A intake I have has the 2 "pipes" coming up it the plunem. I was going to plug them, not sure what the idea of them was fore?
