Possible Father and Daughter project, 88 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham

Update, I found the sbc brackets need to be reamed out so they sit tight against the aluminum adapters, makes sense. Since a 9/16" drill bit is expensive and hard to find, my widest stepped drill bit worked like a charm. It makes the long, small head intake bolt I used near the fuel pump nearly...

1980 Delta 88 Royale sedan questions

What engine option, accessories and mileage? Those are great cars but like the G body, very limited market and only a few will pay anything for them.

What are you guys thoughts on the belt tension? I will compare to to the truck and Challenger. I picked up a couple of small turnbuckles to support the passenger side bracket. Top hose will be in Thursday. So just wire the alternator, fill the coolant and power steering and put in a battery to...

Good idea, there needs to be a sticky. I bent a turnbuckle I had, too long but a shorter one should line up where the old non A/C alternator top bracket bolted to the intake. Here is the belt installed, maybe the tension is OK.

Well, this has been more fun that I thought it would be. Unless you like cutting and grinding, don't run a mechanical fuel pump. Also send the Ford crank pulley to Larry to modify, pain to mark and get right. If the original balancer ring is there, it makes a good template. The stock top rad...

Well working on the serpentine belt set up. I have both brackets on and the drivers side alternator and power steering bracket on, still need to attach the lower support. The passenger side will need a lot removed to clear the mechanical fuel pump. More pics tomorrow. And I will need a...

Got my crank pulley and got the reverse rotation water pump installed. The old pump on the 260 is a nice closed impeller cast iron pump, a good spare. I got everything on the compressor clutch except the top plate. I am going to try a 3/8" fine thread nut, my puller isn't set up to pull it on...

I bought the 7" spread by 5 3/4" reach, still not quite long enough. Since they were the same brand I added the link off the other puller, too long and awkward. So I drilled the middle of those two links, perfect with the extra 1/2 link reach. The bottom ceramic piece also needed pulled off...

Well, I bought a 6"× 3.5" spread puller and of course it is just a little too small to pull the big part of the clutch. I may need to order in the 3 jaw, 7" spread one.

I am using 8M×1.25 Metric bolts on the diesel water pump. I assume later sbc studs will work. I am swapping the A/C clutch, what a bitch on these R4 compressors. The one tutorial pointed out GM's compressors are a bitch. I need a wide 2 jaw puller to finish the job. Good another $50.

I am finally making some progress on the body work. I will get pics up once the final sanding is done. I am also need a new compressor. I am heavily leaning towards a 20 gallon Hulk compressor 5.77 cfm at 90 psi tied into my other nearly dead 20 gallon compressor. Supposedly 41 decibels at 3...
