2019 OCA Oldsmobile Nationals, Wichita KS, June 25-30

I used to make lots of swap meets, Oldsmobile shows/meets. I write all these events of the calendar. Last weekend was the Rootstown, OH Sat/Sunday swap meet. It's a joke between my Lady Friend and me, always something comes up. Last Thursday we went to Maryland for a graduation coming back...

    My latest friend

Non-adjustable. There are limitations but overall it's pretty handy. You could modify the height to just fit in your Suburban but you'd need to choke it close to the item.

    My latest friend

I'm always trying to find ways to save my back. Some of my "Friends" are a two post lift, cherry picker in each building, transmission/rear end jack for the lift, hydraulic table and having everything on dollies. I was looking for a truck crane/lift and I came across this truck crane. Even...

403 SMW the unicorn has been found

I've gone to the Miller Oldsmobile meet for over 25 years, it was the Mondello meet till Dick took over in about 1998. I've never meet anyone (except Joe) that's ever said they saw one. I'm not sure if Joe Mondello ever said he actually saw one. Paul Mayo (factory "sponsored" Olds racer that ran...

403 SMW the unicorn has been found

The Unicorns were out playing. They didn't get on Noahs Arc. They haven't been seen since. This topic has been kicked around since Joe Mondello mentioned them in his book.

DX engines - what are they worth?

The good, almost all the "heavy hitters" in Oldsmobile drag racing use/used diesel blocks. The bad, Oldsmobile racers are "dying" off without new blood coming in. Imo, they are the ticket for a sturdy Oldsmobile race engine. Do it once and save time and money in the "long" run. Jmo

DX engines - what are they worth?

Jmo, the block is the main thing of worth. The large (0.921) roller lifters and dog bones possibly can be used on a Toronado/400 E block. There was a thread about someone was going to try to use them. Not sure how it came out. One couldn't use much lift without oiling problem. I think Bill...

    New home for my Olds

I've had my 2 post lift for right at 10 years. It's the second best investment I ever made. The first is my car hauler that I've had for 26 years. Car hauler paid for my car hobby and without the lift I wouldn't still be able to work on my cars by myself at 68 years of age. I'm planning 2 engine...

    Fav Olds Engine Pic

In 1967 Oldsmobile had a "Police Apprehender Package" for the B-body (88) I always jokingly say that my 1967 Oldsmobile 98 (C-body) is the "Apprehender Package" but for the Police Chief. So I thought I better explain the "humor."

"Rumored" to be standard "Police Chief's Apprehender Package." This is what the "factory" had to do to put a deep oil pan on it due to front steering.

More of the "Police Apprehender Package," standard on the Police Chief's 98's. Ha ha.

It's got the "Police Apprehender" package, well not exactly from the factory.

Just trying to post a picture. If it posts it's from one of my 1967 Olds 98's.

    INTRO 1984 Cutlass Calais

Okey doky, sounds good because you have them. I pumped a lot of money over the years into heads, mostly iron. Back then only Battens were available and you needed to buy the intake plus exhaust flanges and have a set of headers made. Rather than one LARGE purchase I sunk smaller(but still...

    INTRO 1984 Cutlass Calais

Jmo here, from personal experience. Don't necessarily expect a large improvement with Edelbrock heads. 461 cu.in with iron G heads, big valved, backcut, sodium filled, ported/filled crossovers/milled yada yada. Car ran 11:23. Chanded to Mondello cryogenic frozen/ported Edelbrock head$, one of...

    INTRO 1984 Cutlass Calais

A-heads are 1965 heads. Are you still running the original one year big block only valve train? They look like their adjustable but not. Is this a 45 degree 1965/66 block? I'm getting ready to put a 1965 425+ 0.030. I sold the A-heads. I plan on using big valved B or C's. Have you any time...

    Installing a 425 into my 87 cutlass

Without the A.C. compressor and using an aluminium intake the "big block" (actually just a taller block) will be about the same as a 307. So the springs should work. As for the headers, I know Hooker made Super Comps for the 400/425/455 Olds. The drivers side tuve came outside the frame rail. I...
