This cruise control vacuum switch is controlled by the brake pedal . It has a vacuum line to it and an electrical connection . This switch is mounted above the brake light switch , so the upper of the 2 switches on the bracket. When brake is applied the vacuum switch releases vacuum deactivating the cruise control . Question what is the electrical connection on this switch for ? is it just another way to cancel the cruise control ? Does removing this switch affect anything else other than cruise control ? The vacuum fitting on intake manifold for the cruise control has been capped off . the car is a Canadian certified 1982 Delta 88 , 307 with TH250C trans

Check the wire colour and see it matches the wiring to the lock up converter. One of the vacuum switches is part of that circuit as well. When the brake is applied the converter has to unlock it the car will stall.

Only one of the 2 switches on the brake pedal has a vacuum hose to it . I agree i need to find out if this above switch has the TCC lock up . First picture the blue fitting that inserts into the trans , wire looks light green . 2nd pic is the vacuum / electric trans lock up switch with the 3 wires to it . 3rd pic is wires to the cruise control . i have this manual it does not have my TCC lock up or Cruise control for Canadian cars . The last pic is just to confirm for my self that the vacuum/ electric switch is connected to trans, i pulled the blue trans connection up into the engine bay to get it close to the vacuum/ electric switch , notice line on it to pull/feed it back down to trans .

From the Chilton wiring diagrams manual , and another pic of the vacuum sw with wire connection attached . Diagrams do not say for Canadian cars , but i would think Canadian wire colors would be the same as USA made cars . If colors are the same , then looks to me like the TCC lock up is attached to the Cruise control vacuum release sw ! Wires to vacuum sw are PNK / BLK stripe and PPL .

The T C C lock up is attached to the Cruz vacuum switch . So my above picture of the Cruz vacuum SW that says cruz is not completely accurate / the wiring connection is for TCC lock up.
